The mood among the fanbase is decidedly downbeat since the disappointment of Saturday’s dismal 3-0 home defeat by Cheltenham but there are still 11 games to go.
Even if many think Posh will ultimately fall short, it is far soon for the team selection to cast an eye to next season.
For this reason, The PT has still picked the strongest possible side in a 4-2-3-1 to face Burton Albion on Tuesday night (7:45pm).
Hector Kyprianou looks to be struggling with an injury that forced him off against Cheltenham.

Didn't exactly get the rest that was planned on Saturday but in tough times, it's always good to have an experienced head. He has defended ok in recent weeks and Posh need to not be complacent and definitely not fall behind. Photo: Joe Dent

6. JACK TAYLOR
His quality was missing against Cheltenham but it's hard to make the case to bring him out of the side and there would be no one better to bring in. Photo: Joe Dent

7. OLIVER NORBURN
It looks as is Kyprianou could be ruled out through injury so Norburn for a bit of an extra bite in what could be a scrappy away clash may come in handy. Photo: Joe Dent

8. EPHRON MASON-CLARK
He did end up getting a rest after getting hooked so early. He was the unfortunate one of Ferguson just wanting to make changes, rather than anything shocking he did himself. Photo: Joe Dent
