A Posh club record fee of £15 million has been mentioned in reports linking the 19 year-old to Spurs and Crystal Palace.

5. DAVID BILLINGTON
From Posh to Sheffield Wednesday, £500k, March 1997. Billington (pictured back row right, with McKeever to his left, and Wednesday boss David Pleat front left and chairman Dave Richards front right) was going to be the next big thing at Posh, but financial issues prompted his sale to Wednesday alongside McKeever for £1 million between them. Billington made his Posh debut aged 16 in a League Cup tie at Southampton, but made just 7 appearances before he left London Road. Sadly knee injuries wrecked a promising career and he didn't make a single appearance for the Premier League club. 6. MARK HEELEY
Posh to Arsenal, September, 1978, £50k. This gifted 18 year-old winger was a temperamental sort and he'd fallen out with Posh boss John Barnwell when Arsenal came in with a shock £50k offer. Heeley, from Stanground, had only played 17 times for Posh, scoring three goals, before he was lining up alongside Gunners great Liam Brady. But after 15 games he left Highbury and moved to Northampton Town and after 92 games for Cobblers he retired from the professional game aged just 23. Photo: David Lowndes
7. LUKE STEELE
From Posh to Manchester United, May 2002, £500k. The former student at Arthur Mellows College Glinton only played twice in goal for Posh before leaving for Old Trafford in a remarkable transfer aged just 17. He'd spent a month on trial at United earlier that season. Steele never broke into the United first team, but went on to play just shy of 400 senior games for six different Football League clubs, plus a spell with Greek giants Panathinaikos. 8. DEREK DOUGAN
From Posh to Leicester City, May 1965, £25k. Few could believe it when Dougan (pictured left) ended a brief exile from professional football by joining Third Division Posh in 1963, but club and player were good for each other. Dougan scored 46 goals in 90 appearances for Posh before an inevitable sale back into top-flight football. After Leicester the formidable centre forward went on to become a club legend at Wolves.
