Peterborough United winger points to a good performance, but accepts end product must improve

Peterborough United winger Owura Edwards felt his side played well against MK Dons, but admits they must keep working on their end product.

Posh started brightly at Stadium MK, but fell behind after half an hour, but rescued a 1-1 draw with three minutes to play through substitute Chris Conn-Clarke.

Edwards made his return to the starting line-up after limping out of a recent draw against Stevenage with a hamstring injury and subsequently missing the defeat to Sheffield Wednesday three days later.

He was positive about the performance overall against MK, but accepted that Posh and himself do need to continue working on their end product.

Edwards said: “We started well. If we had better end product in the first 20 minutes and took our chances, we would have been on top of the game.

“Set-pieces is an area we need to keep working on as we have conceded too many this season. We played well today though.

“We got into good areas, especially myself, and it’s just about going for the kill there. It’s just that final pass or shot. On another day, we could have been two or three up in the first 20 minutes.

“We just need that final focus on the end product. We having to keep working on it and keep improving. We all need to keep improving as a team.

“The message at half time was just to keep going and keep believing. It just took a moment of brilliance. All of us kept on going and we definitely deserved a point out of that.

“We want to win and we will win for sure. With 15 minutes to go, we definitely could have won it and that’s a credit to everyone’s character and what we are as a team.

“We keep going until the end and if we have that every game, we will definitely win more matches.”
