So who will join Simon Davies, Chris Forrester, Andy Clarke. Charlie Lee and even Chris Plummer as the matchwinner at Sixfields?
Let us hope someone does as a lifetime of adulation from Posh fans will follow.
Former Posh assistant manager Kevin ‘Rooster’ Russell said, soon after moving to London Road with Darren Ferguson in January, 2007, he was shocked at how popular he already was among the club’s fans.
Russell only played seven times for Posh on loan from Leicester City and scored just three goals, but crucially one of them was in a 2-1 win at Northampton in a 1990 Division Four match.
“People kept mentioning it to me even though it was almost 20 years ago,” Russell enthused.
