Alan Swann will be monitoring the League One deals of the day right here and there has already been one Posh rumour!

Posh Transfer Deadline Day Live

Last updated: Friday, 16 October, 2020, 17:36

  • Late flurry of loan signings by League One clubs.
  • But only nine deals completed.
  • Posh didn’t sign or lose anyone. Serhat Tasdemir and Jason Naismith remain at the club.
  • Jack Marriott moves to Sheffield Wednesday on loan.

Sunderland have taken young Wolves defender Dion Sanderson on loan until January.

It’s 5.30pm now, 30 minutes beyond deadline and I make it a paltry nine League One signings. Two each by Charlton, Blackpool and Doncaster and one each for Plymouth, Oxford and Fleetwood. Pretty dull really. Oh hang on Wigan are reporting they’ve signed midfielder Matty Palmer from Swindon.

Blackpool have snapped up former Barnsley defensive midfielder Kenny Dougall, a second signing of the day for the Seasiders.

Oxford signing update

Oxford loan signing Olamide Shodipo ineligible to play at Posh tomorrow.

Gifted forward Paul Smyth has joined Charlton on loan from Wycombe. A good move, but Smyth is no Oztumer. Fun fact Steve Evans once tried to sign Smyth who ended up playing for Accrington instead

Tomorrow’s Posh opponents Oxford have signed the winger they were chasing. Olamide Shodipo has moved to the Kassam from QPR, on loan obviously.

The last hour is always the most hectic as clubs try to get deals over the line.

Here are some late deals as highly-rated Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn joins Blackpool on loan and Doncaster sign yet another loan player, this time Matt Smith from Manchester City. Both are midfielders

Attacking midfielder Andrew Shinnie has left Luton for Charlton, also on loan.

A third League One transfer

Ah hello. A third League One transfer as experienced defender Charlie Mulgrew moves from Blackburn Rovers to Fleetwood, on loan of course

It’s 2pm and I reckon there have been just nine EFL signings so far today. And only two players signed by League One clubs.

Full-back Ben Coker has left Lincoln for League Two side Stevenage.
