Peterborough United could face the most hectic Football League fixture schedule in the club’s history in the second-half of the 2020-21 League One season.

The new third tier season is expected to start on Saturday, September 12, but with the UK Government only allowing restricted capacities at football stadia from October, clubs are pushing to have a considerable majority of the fixtures played in the new year when it is hoped all crowd restrictions will have been lifted.

Posh are expected to announce former club coach Mark Robson as the new first-team assistant manager following the departure of Gavin Strachan to Celtic. Robson has given up a job in the England coaching set-up to return to Posh. He worked at London Road for two seasons between 2010 and 2012.
