As expected League One clubs voted to curtail the 2019-20 season this afternoon (June 9) and apply a points-per-game average to finalise league positions.

It means Posh have finished seventh for the second successsive season and miss out on the play-offs.

This morning all 71 EFL clubs voted to amend their regulations to allow promotions and relegations to apply in a shortened campaign.

The vote came as no surprise to Posh who along with Tranmere Rovers were the worst affected by today’s decision. Tranmere will now be relegated alongside Bolton and Southend.

Coventry City and Rotherham United will now be promoted automatically from League One with Wycombe, Oxford, Portsmouth and Fleetwood contesting the play-offs.

Wycombe jump from eighth to third as a result of applying points-per-game.
