The game in England has been on hold since March 13, with the EFL and Premier League being shut down until the end of April at the earliest.

Supporters up and down the country, and across the globe, are badly missing their football fix.

They will certainly be grateful when the sport returns to normal, whenever that may be, and it has been suggested that the tribal element of the game could be diminished on its return.

Beevers does think that initially there will be a different atmosphere at games, with supporters just so relieved to be watching the sport and teams they love again, but that the old habits will soon return!

Football is football, and it is very emotional,” said the Posh skipper.

“I think that any fan who goes they get into the game emotionally, and they want us to win.

“I don’t think it will change in that aspect, and you wouldn’t want to change it anyway, that is what makes football.

"When you win, everybody is happy, when you lose then everybody is not so happy, and you get a bit of abuse or whatever! But that is football.

“You wouldn’t want to change it, although you would want to change the abuse! But you wouldn’t want it to change too much, and hopefully it won’t.

"I think there will be a few things that will change, certainly at the start when we go back into football, but hopefully it stay as normal as it can be.”

At the moment, it seems football will return when it is safe for it to do so, and that the EFL season will be completed, rather than voided.

And that would sit well wih Beevers, who said: “There are lots of different opinions on how we are going to do it, but that is out of our hands and we are just going to have to go along with whatever the EFL decide to do.

“But having been in the strong position we are now, and also having the momentum, it was tough to take having to shut down after that match.

"Hopefully we can get our boots back on soon and get back out on the pitch.

“If we do that then fingers crossed we can carry on that momentum on that we had.”
