I’m deploying the lesser-spotted 4-4-2 formation in the hope that more scoring chances are created than in the dismal display at Plymouth on Saturday.
5. FRANKIE KENT
Ronnie Edwards looks in need of a rest in my opinion. It's been easy to forget amid all the hype and transfer speculation he never really had a summer break thanks to England Under 19 selection. He went straight from winning the European Championships to warm weather training in Portugal. Taking him out of the firing line might help his sale, if that's what Posh really want. Kent plays alongside Knight in my defence. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
6. JOE WARD
It was a surprise to see Joe Taylor preferred to Joe Ward on the right side of the attack in the second half at Home Park. Ward is by far the better winger and currently the best hope of a decent pass to the Posh strikers so he plays on the right of my midfield four. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
7. JACK TAYLOR
It's a close call between Taylor and Hector Kyprianou in my midfield and the latter is arguably in better form. But I'm hoping getting hooked at half-time last time out might be the kick up the backside that gets Taylor back to his best. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
8. BEN THOMPSON
Thompson will not be Szmodics' direct replacement, but he could well be suited to a deeper midfield role as he can be an effective ball winner. He gets in my team ahead of Jeando Fuchs as he's also better on the ball. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
