Club record signing Eisa (26) hasn’t started a League One game since the second fixture of this season, He cost Posh a reported £1.2 million from Bristol City two summers ago.

MacAnthony said: “There have been a couple of derisory offers for Mo, but he cost us a lot of money so we’ll wait and see what happens.”

MacAnthony believes this will be the first new year transfer window in which Posh don’t sign a new player. Last year Sammie Szmodics, Jack Taylor and Reece Brown all arrived at the Weston Homes Stadium and galvanised the club’s bid for promotion.

Posh expect to hand on to star forward Siriki Dembele despite interest from numerous higher level clubs and Norwich City’s attempt to sign teenager Flynn Clarke has been rebuffed, but fringe players could be on the move including midfielder Louis Reed who is out of contract at the end of this season. Reed hasn’t appeared in the Posh first-team since December 12.

Young midfielders Serhat Tasdemir and Kyle Barker would be allowed to leave on loan today.

The transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight (February 1).
