17.
CHRISTY PYM: Appearances: 45 (0). Goals: 0. Average rating: 6.66 The contribution of the first-choice goalkeeper in the first six months of the season should not be under-estimated. He was one of the more consistent performers in that time with mistakes few and far between, but he did suffer a wobble in form at a bad time and then picked up an injury that almost ended his season. Generally a safe pair of hands. GRADE: B-.

18.
LOUIS REED: Appearances: 20 (5). Goals: 1. Average rating: 6.45. Surplus to requirements at the start of the season, the little midfielder went on to enjoy a run of starts and did pretty well in most of them. Attitude was spot on considering he wasn’t actually wanted and he remained a key member of the squad to the end. Reed sprayed the ball around impressively at times, but could also be wasteful and weak. Released now, but should be remembered fondly. GRADE: C+.

19.
SAMMIE SZMODICS: Appearances: 46. Goals: 16. Average rating: 6.70. Struggled for consistency before Christmas, but once scoring his second League One goal of the season on January 16 he caught fire. A firm fans’ favourite who was sensitive to criticism, but used it to motivate himself. Scored some huge goals during the run-in and struck two goals in a game on five occasions. Busy, skilful and hard-working. A top recruit. GRADE: B+.

20.
JACK TAYLOR: Appearances: 40 (2). Goals: 7. Average rating: 6.95. A high-class midfielder who can pass, shoot accurately and tackle. A hamstring injury stopped him in his tracks late in February and after returning to action he never really hit the same heights again. Took risks in possession in dodgy areas, but that was a sign of supreme self-confidence. Expected to take the step-up in level in his stride. GRADE: A-.
