Peterborough United prospect helps Ukraine beat Italy in the Under 19 European Championships
Peterborough United prospect Pat Sykut played the final 30 minutes of Ukraine’s 1-0 win over Italy in the Under 19 European Championships in Wales on Sunday.
Sykut was sent on in the 61st minute to help protect a single goal half-time lead in Bangor. A third win in three games ensured Ukraine finished top of their group with the result also eliminating Italy who were pipped to second place by Croatia.

Ukraine now take on Germany in a semi-final in Wrexham on Wednesday. Spain and Croatia meet in the other semi-final on the same day.
Sykut had played 84 minutes of a 2-1 win over Serbia in Bangor which was enough to ensure qualification for the last four with one group match to go.
Sykut had contributed an assist in a 3-1 win over Croatia in their first match. Ukraine came from behind to claim the three points.
Ukraine have also now won a place at the U20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan next summer.
Sykut is a Posh Academy graduate. He has made nine appearances in the Posh first team, scoring on his first start, a 3-3 draw with Exeter City at the Weston Homes Stadium.
