All marks are out of 10 and these averages are taken from the paper rather than online as ratings sometimes change after a period of reflection!
The players have also been graded school report style.
Ratings key: 10-Perfect, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Average, 5-Poor, 4 -Stinker.
In reverse order the average ratings were.....

17.
FRANKIE KENT: Apps: 37. Average mark: 7.3. Best performance: Bristol Rovers (away). Posh boss Darren Ferguson likes his defenders to be comfortable on the ball so no wonder he was keen to bring Kent to the club from Colchester last Summer. There were times when the centre-back was bullied, but mostly he was a calm, cultured presence in a defence that really flourished when they switched to three at the back. GRADE: B+ Photo: Midlands

18.
SAMMIE SZMODICS: Apps: 10. Average mark: 7.35. Best performance: v Ipswich (away). The attacking midfielder’s energy and enthusiasm as much as his natural ability galvanised a Posh side who were on the slide when he arrived on loan in January. He immediately struck up a fine understanding with Toney and when Siriki Dembele joined them up top the result was electric. One of the top loan players in Posh history. GRADE: B+ Photo: Midlands

19.
JACK TAYLOR: Apps: 11. Average mark: 7.4. Best performance: v Oxford (home). Paying half a million for a National League player seemed a bit of a gamble in January, but two months later the fee seemed a bargain. Taylor is a fine all-round midfielder with a wide passing range, toughness in the tackle and goals all in his locker. Indeed Darren Ferguson’s big problem next season will be finding the most suitable role for Taylor. GRADE: B+ Photo: Midlands

20.
IVAN TONEY: Apps: 39. Average mark: 7.8. Best performance: v Portsmouth (home). I’m not sure such a high average over so many games has been achieved in this paper before, but if anything the star striker has been underrated. He became the complete striker this season with the only black mark his habit of picking up silly yellow cards. He missed three games through suspension which turned out be crucial.
