All marks are out of 10 and these averages are taken from the paper rather than online as ratings sometimes change after a period of reflection!
The players have also been graded school report style.
Ratings key: 10-Perfect, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Average, 5-Poor, 4 -Stinker.
In reverse order the average ratings were.....
1.
LOUIS REED: Apps: 29. Average mark: 6.0. Best performance: v Lincoln (home). A real mixed bag from a midfielder who sat at the base of the diamond for the first-half of the season before losing his place and disappearing. On occasion he would spray the ball about impressively, but other times he would be careless in possession. Never shirked his defensive duties and was capable of seeing and snuffing out danger. GRADE: C- Photo: Midlands
2.
RICKY-JADE JONES: Apps: 16. Average mark: 6.2. Best performance: v Cambridge (home). The speedy teenage striker enjoyed something of a breakthrough season when his pace off the substitutes’ bench regularly caused alarm in League One defences. Scored on his full debut aged 17 to become the youngest goalscorer in Posh history. Great attitude to closing down defenders and happy to chase lost causes. GRADE: C Photo: Midlands
3.
RHYS BENNETT: Apps: 18. Average mark: 6.25 Best performance: v Bristol Rovers (away). This centre-back’s first season at Posh was a combination of commitment and errors, but he was very consistent last season when called upon. Unfortunately for Bennett, manager Darren Ferguson always paired Beevers and Kent when he could so his starts were rare. He always played with total dedication and plenty of spirit though. GRADE: C Photo: Midlands
4.
JOE WARD: Apps: 36. Average mark: 6.25. Best performance: v Ipswich (away). This final average looks on the low side as Ward rarely let the side down as a winger or a wing-back. It was in the latter role he really thrived though once he started to play positively and take people on with his pace and skill. Crossed the ball well at times and his defending improved greatly as the season wore on. GRADE: C+ Photo: Midlands
