Peterborough United officials call on the UK Government to rescue ailing EFL Clubs
Ferguson used part of his weekly pre-match press conference today (October 29) to claim clubs will soon be falling into administration if a financial rescue package isn’t sorted.
Earlier today Posh co-owners Darragh MacAnthony and Dr Jason Neale praised EFL chairman Rick Parry for turning up the heat on the Government. Parry accused the Government of ‘at best ignoring football, at worst victimising it.’

“No fans in the ground is killing football. No business can exist with no income. I am worried about the future of some clubs. It can’t be long before wages are not being paid and clubs then fall into administration. That’s a gimmee.
“We are lucky at this club to have owners who are able to go that bit further to make sure no-one loses there job and credit to them for that, but how deep are other people’s pockets?
“I try to keep the players’ minds off this sort of thing. We can’t let it be a distraction, but playing our first night game at home this week really brought it home to me how much we need fans at games.

Earlier MacAnthony tweeted a response to Parry’s statement. He said: “Spot on letter to the Government from the
EFL. They are destroying our industry & offering no help at all or solutions.”
