Pool have won their last four competitive matches after a slow start to the season and face a Posh side desperate to make amends for a dismal display and defeat at Crewe last weekend.

Critchley told the BLackpool Gazette: “We are in good form and results have picked up, though I’d question whether we’ve played better than in some of the early games.

“I watched Peterborough play Crewe, who had lost their last three in the league. Peterborugh were top but Crewe deservedly won.

“But Peterborough are top for a reason and have good players. They score goals and are good at home.

“Darren Ferguson said they had an off-day at Crewe and have to respond. They are an attack-minded side, but we will go there confident and will give it our all.”

PAST POOL AT POSH

This fixture was one of those that didn’t get played last season. The last clash between the teams at London Road was an exciting 2-2 draw in September 2018 when Posh goals for Rhys Bennett and Mark O’Hara were cancelled out by goals for Armand Gnaduillet and Nathan Delfouneso. All of the goalscorers are now playing elsewhere.

Posh have won 10 and lost five of 19 Football League fixtures with Blackpool at London Road. Pool last won this fixture in 2017 thanks to a solitary strike from former Posh player Kyle Vassell.
