Posh return to competitive action at the Weston Homes Stadium with a home tie against Morecambe, who many pundits and bookmakers tip to be relegated.

Derek Adams’ men stayed up on the last day of last season but despite being tipped for another season of struggle, still have Cole Stockton in their ranks. One of the hottest strikers in the EFL last season in their side.

Grant McCann has a decision to make over his formation but will be able to call upon Nathan Thompson and Joe Ward this time around.

That nonsense seems to have fired Posh up, who have now finally started in this half.

Posh were given a penalty, Marriott tackled a defender, which allowed JCH to get onto the ball. He’s tripped by Ripley but the flag then goes up, Posh are adamant the last touch was off the Morecambe player. Referee backs up his linesman though. McCann is raging on the sidelines, you assume he’s seen it again.

Gone a bit flat here, Morecambe’s final ball has been quite poor despite all the ball they have had.

Morecambe still dominating the ball with Posh just sitting off.

Posh will do well here to not give Morecambe any encouragement, it has been all them this half so far though, no chances to speak of though.

Tries a low one, Taylor reads and cuts out but Morecambe have started on the front foot as Burrows has to head away a ball back into the box.

Early corner Morecambe.

Posh nearly make it 3. Knight charges down the right, spears in a ball all the way to Burrows arriving late. He puts his foot right through it and it goes just wide, looks like Marriott tried to tap it in but it had too much on it.
