Peterborough United travel to face Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup second round on Saturday (November 26, 3pm).

Victory at Montgomery Waters Meadow will secure Posh a place in the third round of the competition.

They have been boosted by the return of Jonson Clarke-Harris and Jack Taylor but look set to be without Ronnie Edwards after his red card at Bristol Rovers last weekend.

Shrewsbury sit 16th in League One but the sides have not yet met this season.

  • Winners into FA Cup third round
  • Ronnie Edwards set to miss out

This looks like it could be something for Posh. Burrows tripped as he lines up a 25-yard shot. Street gets a yellow card.

Very central position.

So much space for Shrewsbury players whenever they come forward. Posh very slow and giving the ball way too.

Moore just getting treatment after winning a freekick for lying on the ball and stopping EMC getting there.

Game has settled back into the pattern of Shrews dominance. Flanagan finds space on the Posh right, edge of the box somehow, he really should do better than a wild effort over the bar.

Shrews free-kick- should be around 35 yards out on the right but somehow the ref lets them move it centrally. About 5 yards from where it was meant to be.

McCann and Byrne aren’t happy.

Lucky really it only hits the wall.

A gift for Posh. Marosi in the home goal passes the ball straight to JCH on the left. He drives to the edge of the box and sends over a cross for Poku to get a simple tap-in.

That was against the run of play, in a big way.

10 mins 1-0 Shrews

Still Shrewsbury pressure. Posh are really struggling on the wings. Plenty of dangerous balls coming into the box.

Terrible defending from Posh. Shrewsbury get in on the Posh right again, Shipley cuts it back to Street but sees his shot blocked. The ball goes loose in the box but Fuchs just stands there and watches Shipley pick it up again. Posh are lucky he put his effort over the bar from a good position in the box.

That’s a nightmare for Poh, given the likelihood of Shrewsbury to sit in and defend that lead. The home side have started quite well though, playing some probing passes.
