Out of nowhere. Taylor produces a great chipped ball over the top. EMC escapes his man but doesn’t show the killer instinct to have a crack at goal when he’s sprung the offside trap. Not sure if he thought he was off but he had a free shot at goal there, dithered and got tackled.

Port Vale seeing a lot of the ball now. Worrall is getting the better of Butler almost every time he takes him on. It’s a real concern for Posh.

Thompson and Butler are basically playing in central midfield when Posh have the ball.

Posh nearly score from a cross of their own. Good move sees Thompson play in Ward. His low cross looks for EMC but it’s a last ditch slide from Pett that takes it off him as he looked to shoot.

Poor from Butler to be beaten on the left. Ball is sent into the box, Taylor deflects it right into the danger area and there is Odubeko with a free shot on goal. It’s an excellent save from Norris off his line but he shouldn’t have been given the chance.

Butler getting very high up the pitch in this new system, not finding the quality of delivery yet though. Port Vale trying to get at Posh down the wings.

Cleared comfortably but Posh have started well. Putting the pressure on.

Corner Posh, good EMC run.

4-2-3-1 for Posh, EMC on the left, Poku behind JCH.
