Szmodics, who is loan at Posh from Bristol City, showed no sign of injury during Saturday’s (March 7) 2-0 win over Portsmouth. He was substituted with two minutes left of that game. Hamstring injury can take 6-8 weeks to clear up.

Posh have made no comment on the report. The players were off today, but manager Darren Ferguson is scheduled to meet the press tomorrow lunchtime for his weekly pre-match briefing.

Szmodics has been a hit since joining Posh in January. He scored four goals in a three-game spell, but has not scored in his last five appearances.

Posh are already without key defender Nathan Thompson because of a thigh injury for Saturday’s (March 14) League One trip to Bolton.

If Szmodics does miss the game either Jack Taylor or Reece Brown would probably push further forward with Josh Knight coming into the side.
