Darren Ferguson has faith in our younger players to come through and rescue our promotion push if injuries arrive, and considering the under 18s form I don’t doubt his judgement. I think our younger players will be key to promotion this season.

I am disappointed to see Ryan Broom go out on loan to Burton. I don’t believe he was given a fair crack of the whip, considering he can play in several positions and scores goals as well. Of course we don’t know what goes on behind the scene’s?

@eddiedixon461

Squad depth is a little light, but that is a result of the salary cap & was an educated gamble that the management team took in order to get high earners like Szmodics & JCH in the door. The only concern for me is Posh are in a position where they are reliant on JCH’s fitness. Posh are a player short at LCB & CF as they have been all season. Ideal window would have seen Eisa moved on & a CF come in, but that was always unlikely. The players who have left are unlikely to have played many minutes. It’s fine & Posh strength is continuity over past 18 months.

A little concerning as all our serious rivals have freshened up their squads whereas we have arguably weakened our. I guess time will tell if it was the way to go!

@hollyman07

Squad does not have enough strength in depth and is not good enough. Failure to strengthen will ultimately cost us and see us finish outside the play-offs.

@Poshlawts

Won’t know until end of season, but a worry is we seem to have put a lot of truck on Mo Eisa finding his mojo. I look what others have done and am concerned. We simply cannot stand another season in League One.

@Rutlandspinner

If the players on offer were of Ipswich bench standard, then it was good we didn’t sign anyone. Bar a big rise in playing standards, particularly in midfield and up top, I don’t see the current squad getting promoted,sadly.

Slight worry about strength in depth and could that be the difference in the last quarter of the season?

@Ffootball2020

Squad has no depth yet we get rid of two without bringing anyone in whilst those around us improve theirs.

If it’s true that Fergie turned down new players and thinks we’re good enough with what we have....

HE HAS TO GO.

@ImaginePosh

An injury to either JCH or Taylor, and we’re screwed! I know Darragh says we can rely on Mo and RJJ if that happens, but he’s crackers if he genuinely believes that. HUGE risk, and if it realy was Fergie’s decision, he needs to held accountable if things go wrong.

Outside of the favoured 12/13 we have a combination of players who are either probably not good enough or ones who know they aren’t rated by the manager. Plus Dembele who wants away. Even so we’re still in with a decent top 6 shout.

@paul_gauntlett

Most years (excepting last year) the January signings haven’t really had much of an impact until the next season. We do have competition for places so it will probably be okay.

@DJlomax

It’s (no signings) cost us promotion.

@jfgpufc

Time for the Academy graduates to show their worth!

@capper_mike

Our first team is okay. The only person on the bench who you think might change a game is an 18 year old who hasn’t scored a league goal. Squad depth is one of the worst of last 10 years.

@CrispLevi

How many of the League 1 signings are players that haven’t played or played very little this season. It’s going to take them at least 5-6 games to get to match fitness. We have a very good 11 and some cracking youngsters! I’m confident we can get promoted.

Provided we don’t lose any key player to injury our first 11 is still as good as any in the league. Love the faith in the young ‘uns and not developing other clubs’ talent on loan. Would have liked 1 more but we made big investments in the summer.

@poshforever2

We have lost our spark, teams know that if they do a high press on us we can’t cope. Crewe & Shrewsbury being good examples. Could have done with a least one player to provide some competition.

@Werrington2

If we go up Fergie is a genius for not wanting any players offered to him by Dmac, but if we don’t, it’s a bad error considering the business done by promotion rivals.
