Peterborough United fans speak out: ‘Money talks, a stitch-up, EFL are not fit for purpose, but they are morally bankrupt and spineless, not shedding tears when clubs go out of business, and why Posh should apply to play every game at home next season.’

Peterborough United fans reacted with predictable anger as a shortened League One campaign ended in frustration and disappointment for their club.

Talk is cheap. The EFL got the decision they were always after.

If the same action (curtailing the season) had been taken in the Championship, the Premier League would not have allowed any promotions and the EFL would have faced law suits from many clubs. Just shows that power & money affects what decisions are made.

@etnad1313

They manufactured the end because Leagues 1 and 2 don’t matter. Even now Stevenage have no clue where they will be playing.

@Rutlandspinner

A total stitch up by the EFL. They are no longer fit for purpose. Clubs who voted by proxy should be ashamed of themselves.

@rhumph3

We were robbed it’s a fact! But what does not kill you make you stronger. The Posh will be back stronger then ever.

The EFL has to have a clear plan in place for what might happen if next season is disrupted by the second wave of COVID-19. All clubs must demand this should be in place before the season even starts so that everybody is clear about the rules.

@TobyWoody

The EFL have basically signed a suicide note by treating League 1 and 2 differently (to the Championship). B teams within 5 years.

@JustinDB1974

I think we’re on the verge of seeing more than a handful of clubs, badly run, living way beyond their means, going to the wall. And I for one, won’t shed many tears!

@bluegee5

Just sent the EFL an invoice for my season ticket refund.

@Mark_Nick_Uk

The EFL are a spineless organisation.

@Olivierharniess

Just go Mr Parry we deserve better.

@RoyHouldershaw

The EFL are morally bankrupt

@Fig428

It’s been a total farce

@razorblue

Putting me off football now whilst those lot at EFL are in charge.

Happy Now Parry? What a triumph this League one season has been for your bunch of inept administrators.

@CHAMM24

As the EFL solution to League One clearly demonstrates, they don’t consider there is any advantage in playing games at home rather than away, so can Posh please play all 46 games at home next season?

John Kelby

Surely it would now be fair to say that clubs who effectively voted not to play league one games for this season due to financial or covid virus fears should also be unable to play in the play offs and automatic places for the same reasons. This (would make the outcome for the top 10 teams (as at the temporary closure) much fairer.

(Rick Parry is) The Sepp Blatter of English football.

It does beggar the question of how individuals are elected to govern football authorities.
