Peterborough United behind at the break after a nightmare start to game with Luton Town
Peterborough United suffered a nightmare start against Luton Town at the Weston Homes Stadium.
It took the visitors just a shade over two minutes to put together a slick move which ended with Kasey Palmer sending Jordan Clark through to score.

But Posh didn’t fold and started to dominate possession towards the end of the half. They should have equalised on 34 minutes when a Harley Mills free kick caused chaos in the penalty area, but Harry Leonard was on the floor when his shot struck the crossbar and rebounded to safety.
Both teams found chances hard to create clearcut chances with Ethan Williams and Liam Kelly seeing long range shots deflected side for corners after Liam Walsh had sent a tame 20 yarder into the hands of Posh goalkeeper Alex Bass.
The Posh injury crisis didn’t turn out to be as bad as feared, although dashing winger Owura Edwards and on-loan centre-back Josh Feeney were absent from the squad which enabled Sam Hughes to return to the substitutes’ bench, poised perhaps to make his first appearance since May, 2025. Vernon Masara replaced Edwards in the one change to the team that started the 1-1 draw at Bromley last weekend.
Even at full strength it would have been a tough task for Posh. Luton have won their last three League One games, while Posh haven’t won any of their last three.
Luton made two changes to the team that completed that hat-trick of wins.
