Simon Rusk, who grew up in Bretton, has resigned as manager of Brighton’s under 23 side and is expected to take over at Cambridge. The struggling League Two side sacked first-team boss Colin Calderwood last week.

Rusk never played a first-team game for Posh, but played in the Football League with Steve Evans at Boston United.

Rusk has earned a big reputation at Brighton. He has a UEFA pro licence, the highest coaching badge available.
