That means playing new signing Bali Mumba in one of the full-back positions and making the usual difficult choice of who should partner Siriki Dembele up front.
My team to face Bristol Rovers in a third round FA Cup tie is here. It’s a midfield diamond formation.
9. JORGE GRANT
Potentially the man most likely to thread the ball behind defences to the Posh forwards, so he must find space and his teammates must find him early. A player capable of scoring goals from the tip of the diamond as well.
10. SIRIKI DEMBELE
Feed Dembele and he will score, especially against League Two opposition.
11. SAMMIE SZMODICS
If I felt Ricky-Jade Jones had any chance of playing in the next Championship fixture I'd throw him in here. But, unless Callum Morton or any other potential striker signing arrives next week, it's likely Darren Ferguson will be forced to choose between former Bristol Rovers star Jonson Clarke-Harris and Szmodics. I've gone for Szmodics' energy and workrate in the hope he can boost his confidence with a goal or two.
12. THE SUBSTITUTES
It's great to see Ricky-Jade Jones back and his speed makes him a decent threat from the bench. Clarke-Harris is alongside him with Joe Tomlinson and Frankie Kent as defensive cover, Will Blackmore as the back-up goalkeeper and Kwame Poku and Joe Ward as midfield options.
