But a first goal since early December for striker Mo Eisa was at least a big positive to take from the game.

Here are the Peterboroughj Telegraph player ratings

Christy Pym: A very quiet afternoon against a weak attacking unit. No chance with goal and kicked the ball well 7

Nathan Thompson: Kept dangerman Jamie Murphy very quiet. Picked up another caution though 7

Mark Beevers: Didn’t always judge the ball well in flight especially when attacking, but he was solid enough defensively 7

Frazer Blake-Tracy: A surprise selection as the third centre-back and did okay until giving the ball away from a throw-in which ultimately led to the Burton equaliser. He was up against Burton’s best player in Lucas Akins 6

Joe Ward: Found so many good positions, but his crossing was poor. There were times when he could have gambled on exploiting Dembele’s pace and didn’t. A frustrating display 5

Dan Butler: Didn’t see the ball as often as Ward, but he also struggled to find a decent cross. Defended very soundly 6

Jack Taylor: Battled hard in midfield and used the ball well in the first-half. Less effective after the break, although his commitment levels never dropped 6

Reece Brown: Another to see plenty of the ball, but he spurned making decisive passes in favour of making safe ones 6

Sammie Szmodics: Ruined one very promising moment in the first-half with a poor decision, but was hardly in the game apart from that5. Disappointing 5

Mo Eisa: A much improved display frokm the striker even aside from his well-taken goal. Worked hard, got involved more and passed the ball pretty well. Denied a second goal late on by a decent save 7

Siriki Dembele: Worked hard and ran hard. Kept dropping in first half to receive the ball. Created the goal with a strong run 7
