LIVE BLOG: Swindon vs Posh

Last updated: Saturday, 10 April, 2021, 17:03

  • 3-0 FT
  • Dembele double gives Posh 2-0 half-time lead
  • JCH wins penalty but scuffs it badly wide
  • Posh miss a host of chances before JCH scores with last kick of the game
  • Posh stay second while Sunderland lost away to Charlton

That was the most stressful 3-0 ever it seems. Posh could easily have won this 7 or 8 nil. Absolutely unbelievable all the chances that went begging before JCH finally sealed it. Not least them man himself shanking a penalty horribly wide. Posh march on though and you hope they don’t come to rue the goal difference factor from today. The added bonus is that Charlton won 2-1 away at Sunderland so Posh are 5 clear of them and their game in hand can no longer take them above Posh.

One other thing to note is that Dembele is clearly still not fully fit and it will probably be a case of managing him through the season. At multiple times today he was not running freely or holding his back.

Posh have finally killed the game off and it is JCH who smashes home from the edge of the box into the top right corner. Jones touches it past his man and plays him in, Kanu nearly goes for it but let’s the division’s top scorer have the effort.

Sharp reactions from Camp when Ward’s through ball finds Jones on the left of the box, Kanu is in the middle and it is likely Jones is trying to find him but Camp pushes wide.

Kanu and Jones come on for the final 5 for Dembele and Burrows, you’d assume something is wrong with Harrison. Dembele also walks off uneasy, he’s not been moving freely for a while, it’s clear he’s not fully fit.

OH MY GOODNESS. How have Posh not killed this off. JCH robs Grant and plays in Ward deep inside of the box, he shoots across Camp and the keeper is down to save.

Absolute madness from a Swindon corner. Bursik is blocked off and Butler has to clear off the line, Taylor then shanks the ball up in the air, the rebound shot is then blocked and then JCH doesn’t clear. The final shot comes off the back of Kent as he turns to get the block in.

Booking for Taylor for a pull back on Grant. Free-kick in the centre circle.

Posh so wasteful, Dembele wriggles free on the left, finds Hamilton free just infront of the six-yard box but he completely shanks an effort with his left foot.

Good hands from Bursik from a looping ball. He has looked so assured coming off his line under pressure today.

Change in the centre of the park for Swindon, Joel Grant for Missolou.

Poor ball in and Posh hoof away.

Swindon free-kick on the right, Hamilton pushes Palmer over for no reason.
