Fergie switches it up
Posh have gone to a good old 4-4-2. Grant stays on the bench and Ronnie Edwards replaces Josh Knight at CB, hard to argue with Knight being dropped on his recent form but big test tonight for Ronnie. He had a torrid night against Plymouth and Ryan Hardie, although Puscas will be alot less mobile that Hardie on that night. JCH’s return has come at the expense of Szmodics.
Reading meanwhile have fielded an extremely inexperienced bench. Four 18 year-olds, a 17-year-old , a 21-year-old and Junior Hoilett. First choice keeper Rafael is out with a broken hand after he punched a whiteboard after they gave a 3-1 lead away on Saturday!
Reading line-up

Past meetings
It’s funny how things work out in football. Saturday was the first time since 2010 that Posh conceded 6 in a league match. Where did that happen? At the Madejski Stadium, of course. That was just Gary Johnson’s second match in charge in a fixture that has a unique history of 6-0s. The last time these two met that was the score, in Posh’s favour though!
Posh haven’t won here since 1976 so will be hoping to well and truly throw the form book out of the window but one thing is for sure, looking at the past and the current defensive records of both sides, expect goals tonight!
Last 5 meetings:
27 Aug 2013 Posh (Assombalonga, Tomlin 3, Swanson, Payne) 6-0 Reading (League Cup)
28 Aug 2012 Reading 3-2 (Paul Taylor, Tomlin) Posh (League Cup)
20 Mar 2012 Posh (Boyd, Barnett, Paul Taylor) 3-1 Reading
29 Nov 2011 Reading 3-2 Posh (Rowe, Sinclair)
17 Apr 2010 Reading 6-0 Posh
Reading outs
Michael Olise (AM) to Crystal Palace (£8.37m)
Sone Aluko (ST) to Ipswich (free)
Omar Richards (LB) to Bayern Munich (free)
Sam Baldock (ST) to Derby (free)
Marc McNulty (ST) to Dundee United (loan)
Sam Smith (ST) to Cambridge (free)
Some great young talent, in Olise and Richards has left the club. Not very often Bayern Munich come sniffing around in the Championship!
Look at all those strikers that have left, hindsight is 20-20, I bet they wish they had kept a few of those now, especially Baldock, who has settled into life at Derby well.
