Peterborough United host surprise promotion contenders Luton Town in the Championship this evening (April 5).

Posh are set to be boosted by the return on Ronnie Edwards and Mark Beevers but have now fallen to eight points adrift of safety, with only seven games to go.

Luton, meanwhile, who operate on a similar budget to Posh, are flying high in fourth and looking for another win to move their impossible dream of reaching the Premier League a step closer.

LIVE: Posh vs Luton

Key Events

  • 7:45pm kick-off
  • Edwards and Beevers likely to return to the squad
  • Norburn ruled out with torn ACL
  • Morton returns to West Brom with shoulder injury
  • Luton could go third with a win

Straight change up top, Posh will need Luton to push on more than they have been doing though to use Jones’ pace.

Posh sub 68 mins 1-0 Luton

Marriott replaced by Jones.

Decent run down the right from Ward, Poku shoots from around 25 yards, well over.

Luton with men behind the ball now mostly. Still a threat though, Adebayo should have been in on goal but takes a heavy touch after being fed by Bell on the left edge of the box. Cornell races out and claims.

So demoralising watching Posh pick up the ball and the man with it having no options becuase no one is moving. Invariably it then leads to him gifting the ball away with an ambitious pass.

Game has slowed down after that goal, likely to be very stop start now. Posh can’t sring a couple of passes toghether at the minute. Luton midfield just quicker to everything.

High foot from Mpanzu, catches Fuchs, who is leaning in slightly. Posh not really started in this half so far.

Adebayo played in behind Posh again, Edwards does well though to get back and make the tackle. He’s not looked at his most sure tonight but he did well there.

Posh try to respond but Fuchs’ ball into the box is deflected out of play.

Hylton scores. Ball played out to the right, Burrows in no mans land, ball completely bypasses him, Onyendinma rolls it across the face of the goal and Hylton pokes in.
