Doncaster’s tale of woe

One of the positive omens for Posh tonight is that Doncaster make the trip as one of the most out of form teams in the Football League. From automatic promotion chasers, they have dropped right down to 13th. Darren Moore walkout out of them while on a poor run and Interim boss Andy Butler hasn’t improved things.

Doncaster’s run of form: LLLDL, Moore leaves, WWLDLDLLLLLWLL

As usual it’s the loan players with Donny. Josh Sims (Southampton), Tyreece John-Jules (Arsenal) and Taylor Richards (Brighton) are all now back at the club after spells on the treatment table.

They will be without ex-Posh man Kieran Sadlier, who scored in both of the meetings last season, through injury.

All of Posh’s promotions, will they add another one tonight?

Late Covid hit blow for visitors

The news has just broken that four Doncaster players will now miss tonight’s game. One has tested positive for Covid and as a result, another three are self-isolating.

The club will not be naming the players but the other squad members have been tested and returned negative results. Game still on.

Here we go then. The day has arrived and Posh have their first chance to seal their place in the Championship for next season.

Darren Ferguson is going for his 5th career promotion (4th at Posh) against the club he led to this division in 2017.

It can be simple, just win, if not:

Draw and we need Lincoln to fail to beat Shrewsbury

Lose and hope Lincoln lose and Sunderland drop points
