The PT has picked what we believe is the optimal starting XI and substitutes, assuming everyone is fit, which admittedly is a huge assumption.
We don’t believe two up top with work with the current set of players, nor would a system involving three central defenders and a pair of wing-backs,so we either play 4-3-3 or stick with the 4-2-1-3 formation.
It’s 4-3-3 for us, but let us know what you think.

Fingers crossed this stylish central defender can stay fit as he's a nailed on starter in our book. The left footedness gives important balance, he can pass, he can defend and he can mix it physically. His experience is needed in a time of strife, but Posh are now also fortunate to have two younger central defenders who have shown they can thrive at League One level. Lucca Mendonca has been exceptional in recent weeks, while Josh Feeney was very good until his two most recent appearances. Ireland Under 21 international David Okagbue is now fifth choice centre-back. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

We like this midfielder's energy and commitment. He is not at the level of Archie Collins, but few are, and he fulfils a similar role. He sits deeper than the other midfielders, but he has a decent passing range. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

7. MATT GARBETT
In an ideal world this Kiwi international midfielder would be given a free role in midfield and that he revels in it so much he starts scoring and assisting because the ability is there. He's competitive and hw can stand up to the most physical of teams. To get a move in January he might need to show some top form which would only benefit his current team. A key man in our opinion. Posh have an abundance of midfielders of a similar standard, albeit with different strengths. We've gone with the most physically powerful of them, and the one with the best left foot to create even more balance. Woods has scored a couple of goals this term with well-timed runs into the penalty area. Harry Ashfield is next in line because of an ability to play in any of our midfield roles and don't rule Brandon Khela out as he showed his best trait of running power as a substitute against Luton last weekend. Harrison Jones is a forgotten man and might take a while to get up to speed as he had never played in the Football League, outside of four appearances for Sunderland, before moving to Posh in the summer..
