Fergie warns Posh players of the Doncaster dangers and reminds them they’ve achieved nothing yet

The League One form guide suggests Posh will get the win they need to clinch promotion from League One. Rovers have collected just five points from a possible 36 from their last 12 third tier matches.

But Ferguson is wary of a team who have an excellent recent record against Posh. Rovers are managed by Andy Butler who played for Ferguson in a League Two promotion-winning side in the 2016-17 season.

“Doncaster are very dangerous opponents,” Ferguson said. “They play through the thirds and they do it very well.

“They have the same players that got them into a strong position in the table earlier in the season and they have plenty of good experience.

“They have found it hard since Darren Moore left to manage Sheffield Wednesday, but we will need to do a lot of things well to win the game.

“Obviously we are confident coming on the back of an excellent display at Charlton, but we will need to show the same levels of commitment, mental strength and spirit to beat Doncaster.

“We certainly want to start on the front foot as we did at Charlton. That set us up for a very important win.

“Obviously there is a lot at stake for us and we just need to deliver one more good performance and result to win promotion, but we are mindful we have achieved nothing yet.

“We will prepare as normal and if we can repeat the 19 shots and 28 crosses from our last home match (a 1-0 defeat to Gillingham) I will be happy because we would surely score this time.”

On loan Huddersfield midfielder Reece Brown could return to the starting line-up tomorrow after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Posh could go up with a draw tomorrow if Lincoln City fail to win at Shrewsbury. That game kicks off 45 minutes earlier than Posh v Doncaster at 7pm.
