FANs’ REACTION: ‘Never mind the quality, enjoy the win, wing wizard Dembele, new goalkeeper looked good against the worst team Posh have played all season’

Most Posh fans were thrilled to win easily at Swindon and move closer to the Championship yesterday (April 10). The standard of the performance didn’t bother them unduly.

Virtually all of those who responded to the PT request for a brief match summary were disappointed the winning margin was only 3-0.

Let’s get a grip! Poor Swindon side that grew in confidence when they realised we could not take our chances.

Poor finishing, poor decision making. A game when we should have improved our goal difference. Okay we won, scored three goals, but we were never safe until the 94th minute.

@MichaelRutkows4

Comfortable win, but we should scored 6 or 7 to be honest. Dembele was fantastic. 3 points on the road, Sunderland lost so good day for Posh.

@milanvanco

A win is a win.

@alyn_line

Swindon were dire. We should have racked up a rugby score.

@Poshtroll

1st half impressive. 2nd half average. Missed Szmodics.

@Gregsta73

Good 3 points, Burskik fitted in well, should have scored more, but job done, Big plus Sunderland dropping points. Good day at the office.

@Polhillmichael

Did what we had to do. 3 points in the bag.

@Robewing.

A huge chance missed to improve goal difference, but it’s 3 points so move on.

Very happy with the result. We needed a win and we got a win. Other results also went our way. A solid Saturday. Now to focus on the next game.

@Pjcashman

Bursik was good commanding his area and Dembele was on another level. 6 more Wembley finals to go.

@jacobcr27518800

Well played. Could have been 5/6 to be honest, but we go on.

@dazposhie

Lazy in front of goal, could have been 7.

@michaelhunt3610

After conceding 6 goals in the space of 4 days (at Rochdale and Blackpool), impressed we’ve tightened up at the back - just 1 goal conceded in 4 since Blackpool. Impressed with Bursik. But need to be more clinical in remaining matches. Goal difference may well decide 2nd and 3rd.

Posh in a different class today. Need to be more clinical in the closer games to come.

@philbeck1981

At this stage of the season it’s a great win. Any win is a great win with 6 games left. I’m not concerned how we play!

@PaulHow19538679

The keeper looked confident in what he was called upon to do. Not sure why Eisa got a start. His body language causes me concern. We stayed in 2nd gear because we didn’t need to go any higher. Overall, reasonably satisfied. 7/10.

@ChrisMosley44

3 points is all it’s about at this point of the season. Could and probably should have scored more, but you can’t have everything.

It’s a real shame Eisa didn’t finish the game. We may still need some goals from him for automatic promotion. Keeper and defence looked good, but Taylor was rusty and we obviously should have scored 6/7.

@PeterboroughJoe

Assured performance without being totally dominant. Dembele a little wizard.

@TobyWoody

Got the job done. Bursik looked good and commanding of his area which is good, also a clean sheet. Time to use our home advantage in the next few games. Can’t afford to slip up against Cobblers or Gills.

@Kyle_Irving1

Impressive result, but we really should have scored more goals. However, at this stage of the season it’s only about points, and we are another game closer to promotion to the promised land.

Very simple win, worst team we’ve played against this season, could have scored 8.

@Alexnelson2004

Sunderland next 3 games are Wigan, Blackpool & Hull all away. Posh should be nailed on now for promotion.
