Experienced defender insists Peterborough United have no time to waste in their battle to get out of the relegation zone
Experienced centre-back Tom Lees insists there is no time to waste in Peterborough United’s bid to start moving up the League One table.
Rock bottom Posh host sixth-place AFC Wimbledon at the Weston Homes Stadium and only three points would give them a chance of getting upwardly mobile.

It won’t be easy though as ‘The Dons’ are one of the surprise packages in League One this term. They currently sit in a play-off place after winning promotion through the League Two play-offs last season.
Posh are now six points from safety after Reading’s 1-0 win over Stevenage on Thursday night, a result that lifted ‘The Royals’ up eight places to 12th.
"We need to start getting points on the board now as as other teams around us have been picking up wins.” Lees told the Posh Plus service. “But we can also take encouragement from how quickly it is possible to jump up the league. Normally you can see a couple of teams you think might continue to struggle, but that’s not the case this season.
"We have teams who came down from the Championship who were favourites to go back up and have struggled and you have to credit the teams that came up from League Two who are towards the top.
"Our results have been disappointing, but even before the change of manager there were signs we were getting stronger. We looked good last week in beating Cardiff, and it was a strong Cardiff side without many changes, so we can take a lot of confidence from that.
"I enjoyed it under the previous manager and I'm enjoying under the new one. At this time in my career I want to enjoy my football and this group has been good to be around.
"The new manager has been slowly getting his points across in training. He’s not forced them all on us at once, but we will be well prepared for games and it’s up to us to implement the things he wants to see on the pitch in matches. We want to show everyone what we’ve been working on.
"We started the game well last week and we need to maintain that intensity. It's up to us to get the crowd behind us and they can help us get in front. It’s a lot easier to try and defend a lead than it is chasing a game.
"The aim tomorrow is to play as well as we did last week, but to keep it going for longer.”
