The 30 year-old left Posh for Blackpool in the summer and was immediately appointed captain of ‘The Seasiders.’

Bit he’s missed the last two Pool matches because of a neck injury leaving his participation at Bl oomfield Road this weekend in some doubt.

Norburn played 56 times for Posh without scoring following a move from Shrewsbury in August, 2021.

Blackpool manager Neil Critchley said: “Ollie’s a little bit better, but still not quite right.

"Hopefully he’ll keep improving so he can take to the pitch against Peterborough, because I’m sure he’ll want to play in that game.

"We’ll just give him as much time as possible. It’s one of those things that can clear up quite quickly, so fingers crossed it does, because it can also linger.

"Hopefully he will be able to put his hand up for selection.”

With or without a man he brought to London Road after a long pursuit, Posh boss Darren Ferguson is expecting a tough game against an in-form opponent.

Pool, who were relegated from the Championship last season, are unbeaten in four League One games and sit just behind Posh in sixth place.

Ferguson said: “It’s always a tough game at Blackpool.

"I look at their squad and think it's probably one of the better ones in the league with they way they've recruited and the depth they've got.”

The home side have an obvious dangerman in 33 year-old forward Jordan Rhodes who has scored nine goals in nine games for them since moving on loan from Huddersfield Town.

Highly-rated former Celtic player Karamoko Dembele – the younger brother of ex-Posh star Siriki Dembele – is another one to watch.

The 20 year-old scored his second goal for the club in Tuesday’s 3-2 home win over Cheltenham. Dembele is on loan from French club Stade Brest.

Blackpool have the second best home record in League One, behind unbeaten leaders Portsmouth, with five wins and just one defeat in eight matches, to Derby at the start of October.
