Earlier this week Wembley winning Posh skipper Mick Halsall reminded everyone he started his career at Birmingham, while Siriki Dembele is a recent addition to the ranks of those who have played for both clubs.
But do you remember these players who also signed contracts at Posh and Birmingham? We’re guessing many are long forgotten!

5. DAVID RENNIE
Prior to joining Posh from Cobblers in December, 1997, this central defender had racked up over 400 Football league games for the likes of Leicester City, Leeds United, Coventry City and Birmingham City. Made 32 appearances for Posh before joining Boston United at the end of the 1998-99 season. Photo: David Lowndes

6. SIMON REA
Chunky, ball-playing central defender who made one appearance for Birmingham City at the start of his career and 184 appearances for Posh between 1999 and 2005 towards the end of it. Scored eight Posh goals. Photo: Alan Storer

7. MARK PRUDHOE
Back in the days before he was a famous celebrity, TalkSPORT star Adrian Durham was working for Hereward Radio. He and I pitched up for a Posh game at Cardiff to see a goalkeeper warming up who we had never seen before. It was October 1994 and Posh boss John Still had signed a goalkeeper on loan from Stoke City without informing the press. Prudhoe went on to make six appearances. He had started a brief career at Birmingham a decade earlier. Photo: David Lowndes

8. MARTIN O'CONNOR
The best player on this list by some distance. Barry Fry purchased Posh in May 1996 and appointed himself manager. He had little clue about the club's finances when he splashed out a club record £350k on ace Walsall midfielder Martin O'Connor. He left five months later for Birmingham City for £500k after the level of debt at London Road had been discovered. O'Connor made 24 Posh appearances and scored three goals. Photo: David Lowndes
