Co-owner says it feels like Christmas Eve with Posh on the verge of promotion to the Championship and the club’s fans are extremely confident

Peterborough United co-owner Dr Jason Neale admits it feels like Christmas Eve with Posh tantalisingly close to promotion to the Championship.

Dr Neale and his business partner Stewart ‘Randy’ Thompson became co-owners of Posh alongside Darragh MacAnthony three years ago and a win against Doncaster Rovers in a League One fixture at the Weston Homes Stadium tonight (April 27, 7.45pm) would deliver a first promotion under the new ownership structure.

Dr Neale will have one massive regret if Posh do confirm a top two finish tonight.

Dr Neale said: “Poor night’s sleep in anticipation and worry for tonight. It’s three years since Randy and I joined up with Darragh and a lot of hard work brings us to Christmas Eve.

“If I could change one thing I would have a stadium of fans. It’s not the same without you.”

Posh fans were in predictably confident mood ahead of a home game against out-of-form Rovers.

The PT asked them for their predictions today. All responses to @PTAlanSwann on Twitter.

I reckon it’s a 2-0 win, but think it will be second half before we get the goals as they may want to park the bus and do anything to prevent us getting the win we need.

Up by half-time, when the other results have gone our way.

@Proud2Bposh

If we get an early goal, I see us winning comfortably. If it is 0-0 at half time, it could get a little nervy!
