Posh kick things off at the Cardiff City Stadium at 12:30pm. Expectations are very mixed among fans with a number of new signings coming through the door and a number of players expected to kick onto bigger and better things than the last campaign.
For this line-up, the PT picks for the players it would play on the opening day, not the one we think Darren Ferguson will pick.
I have gone for a 4-3-3 formation.
9. Abraham Odoh
Already one of the more senior players in the group and with a full season under his belt from last year. Some bright sparks last year, some not so much but he is one of the players that Posh need to really step up and prove they were right to place their faith in him last summer. The boots of Mothersille need to be filled and that will firstly fall to Odoh on the left. Photo: Joe Dent
10. Cian Hayes
Another charged with justifying his purchase by stepping into a gaping void. Could not do much last season with the presence of Poku for a lot if it but with his skill can cause problems for defenders, if only he remembers to look up at the end of his runs and pick out a teammate. Photo: Joe Dent
11. Bradley Ihionvien
The man grabbing all of the headlines in pre-season with his goals and the man back in favour. Capable of offering the forward line something a bit different, shown a willingness to press, get amongst it and find the back of the net of pre-season. Has a lot of good qualities I am yet to be convinced that Lindgren has. Photo: Joe Dent
