Posh kick things off at the Cardiff City Stadium at 12:30pm. Expectations are very mixed among fans with a number of new signings coming through the door and a number of players expected to kick onto bigger and better things than the last campaign.
For this line-up, the PT picks for the players it would play on the opening day, not the one we think Darren Ferguson will pick.
I have gone for a 4-3-3 formation.

5. James Dornelly
A tough choice at right back. I'm not sure there is much between the two options. Dornelly probably has a higher ceiling that Johnston so we'll go with him to start the season. Photo: David Lowndes

6. Brandon Khela
The player I have been most impressed with in pre-season. Looks like he could be the one with an eye for a pass that Ferguson and Posh fans have been crying out for most of last season and he looks prepared to work hard too. Photo: David Lowndes

7. Archie Collins
Will be here when the window shuts? I certainly hope so but for now, he is. Still easily gets into this Posh team but with Kyprianou gone, more may be asked and required from him, especially in the goals department. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

8. Donay O'Brien-Brady
Looks to have put the work in over the summer in the gym and returned with improved physicality, which is a good thing since I would plan to use him as the more advanced of the midfield trio, akin to the role of a number ten. This could be his season to really make that breakthrough. Photo: Joe Dent
