Here, the Peterborough Telegraph takes a pictorial lookback at some of the biggest moments of a year that saw Posh finally win promotion out of League One, after eight years of trying and receive a harsh lesson in the challenges posed by being a Championship side.
These moments were captured through the lens of the PT’s David Lowndes and Posh’s Club Photographer Joe Dent.
13. Posh 1-1 Huddersfield- 02/11/21
He may not look too happy in this one but Darren Ferguson must have allowed himself a smile after the match against Huddersfield as he took charge of his 500th Posh match. He brought up the landmark in his third spell at the club and has delivered four promotions in his time; making him undoubtedly the best manager in the club's history. Photo: Photo: Joe Dent.
14. Posh 2-1 Millwall- 11/12/21
There was a changing of the guard as Posh beat Millwall in December. Ollie Norburn took the armband for the first time after impressing Darren Ferguson since his arrival from Shrewsbury in the summer. His captaincy got off to the best possible start. Photo: Photo: Joe Dent.
15. Blackpool 3-1 Posh- 18/12/21
Posh's latest match ended in defeat at Blackpool after taking a rare lead on the road. It was only Posh's sixth away goal of the season in their 11th defeat out of 12. It is abundantly clear what Posh need to do in 2022. Photo: Photo: Joe Dent.
