It should be a cup cracker with two accomplished Southern League Premier Division Central Division sides just two wins away from a place in the first round proper.

Sports, who saw Cameron Johnson leave the club today, won their first league game of the season, 3-0 against Barwell at the Bee Arena on Saturday.

The city side are expecting a bumper crowd so an early arrival is suggested. Gates open at 6.30pm and admission is £10 adults, £7 over 60s and £3 students (with card). It’s free for accompanied under 13s.

Spalding United parted company with manager Lewis Thorogood after a third straight defeat in the South East Division of the Northern Premier League at the weekend. Anyone interested in the post should contact [email protected] or call 07921 699072.

Spalding are in league action at Cleethorpes tomorrow when high-flying Stanford AFC travel to Carlton and rock-bottom Wisbech Town visit Lincoln United.

The draw for the first round proper of the FA Vase was made today with Whittlesey Athletic, who won the first Vase game in the club’s history on Saturday, handed a home tie with Mildenhall Town and Deeping Rangers an away game at Eccleshall or Hanley Town.

The ties will take place on October 31.
