Peterborough Sports beaten in semi-final, Deeping win, Peterborough Northern Star lose, Whaley appointment at Wisbech is confirmed

There will be no cup final for Peterborough Sports as they were beaten 2-1 by Daventry in a Northants Cup semi-final at the Bee Arena last night (February 4).

A nuch-changed Sports team took the lead through Cameron Johnson in the first-half, but the visitors equalised before the break and won the tie six minutes from time.

Sports continue their push for promotion from the Southern League Premier Division Central at home to Alvechurch on Saturday (February 8).

Deeping Rangers won at Boston Town in the United Counties Premier Division thanks to a solitary Michael Simpson goal, but Peterborough Northern Star were well beaten, 3-0 at Rothwell Corinthians.

Brett Whaley’s appointment as manager of Wisbech Town has now been confirmed. Whaley left March Town earlier this week.
