Peterborough & District Football League award rebates for next season after ending the 2019-20 campaign early

The Peterborough & District Football League (PDFL) have awarded each member team a £50 rebate on 2020-21 registration fees to help make up for the 2019-20 season finishing early because of the coronavirus crisis.

Half of the award comes direct from the PDFL with the other half courtesy of the Peterborough Football Sports Development Fund.

The annual registration fee for Premier Division teams is £145 with lower division teams paying a £115 fee so those costs will drop to £95 and £65 respectively.

The rebate is available to all teams, so Netherton United, who have three teams in the competition, will receive £150.

There was a call last week from Netherton first-team boss Jon Harrison for free football next season, but he urged the FA to help out local leagues. Many clubs were angered by the FA decision to end non-league football from step three down with many championsip, promotion, relegation and cup issues still to be decided.

Premier Division leaders Netherton were still in the hunt for four trophies.

The PDFL are still working on their 2020-21 constitution.
