Jake Sansby grabbed the only goal of the game seven minutes from time. He then saw a penalty saved before Star saw out a second qualifying round tie.

Deeping Rangers also eased through by coming from behind to win 4-1 at Walsham Le Willows. The hosts took an early lead that was cancelled out by Scott Mooney midway through the first half.

Pinchbeck United are out though. They went down 2-1 at Woodbridge Town after playing the final 30 minutes with 10 men following Jack Smith’s red card.

Fraser Bayliss had equalised for Pinchbeck in the first-half courtesy of a cracking strike.

Holbeach United also finished with 10 men in their United Counties Premier Division game against Cogenhoe at Carter’s Park. Joe Braithwaite saw red after conceding the spot-kick which gave Cogenhoe a 2-0 lead, but the 10 men fought back brilliantly to draw 2-2 thanks to goals from Josh Ford (penalty) and new signing Declan Rogers.
