Netherton United respond to setback with a perfect 10 performance, Stilton still setting the pace, Cardea halt losing run, back-to-back wins for Peterborough North End Sports, battle of the top two was a lop-sided affair

Netherton United manager Jon Harrison asked for a reaction from his players to a first Peterborough Premier Division defeat of the season at Parson Drove and boy he got one.

The city slickers crushed Long Sutton Athletic 10-1 at the Grange on Saturday (October 3) to move back up to second spot.

Club stalwart Tom Randall struck four goals with Chris Down, Alfie Ferguson, Patryck Huczko, Fraser Sturgess, Antonio Del Russo and Eunis Lievins also on target.

Stilton United are still setting a scorching pace at the top. They made it five wins out of five by hitting Eye United for six last weekend. Lee Deane (2), Jordan Fiddes (2), Lewis McManus and Dylan Kilford scored the goals. Stilton have signed former Netherton skipper Ash Jackson from Whittlesey Athletic.

Uppingham Town provided the shock of the day by winning 2-0 at previously unbeaten Parson Drove. It was a first win of the season for Uppingham.

Moulton Harrox are making steady progress. They’ve won all three of their top-flight matches so far this season, the latest 3-1 over struggling Stamford Lions.

Cardea halted a run of three straight defeats by battling to a 3-3 draw at unbeaten Holbeach United Reserves. Martyn Dox, Thomas Klinkovics and Daryn Whiteman scored for the city sides.

Peterborough North End Sports claimed a second successive win as goals from Spencer Haskins and Matthew Oliver netted in a 2-0 success at Ketton.

The battle of the top two in Peterborough Division One proved to be a lop-sided affair as leaders Wittering Premiair crushed Moulton Harrox Reserves 8-2. Andrew Moss bagged a hat-trick for the winners who are already three points clear at the top.
