The 25 year-old winger has scored hat-tricks in his last four Peterborough Premier Division matches which equals the 1998 record for a professional player - ratified by the Guinness Book of Records - of former Japanese international Masashi Nakayama.

Nakayama registered no fewer than 16 goals in four games for Jubilo Iwata in the J League.

Randall bagged a treble in a 4-1 win at Crowland last Saturday to add to hat-tricks scored against ICA Sports, Holbeach Reserves and Stilton United in his three previous outings.

Unfortunately to beat the world’s best, Randall will have to score a hat-trick against runaway leaders Moulton Harrox tomorrow (April 9).

Netherton manager Jon Harrison said: “Tom is on fire. He’s got himself very fit, he’s always been very quick and now he’s converting one in every three chances compared to one in every six earlier in the season,

“He’s capable of playing higher, but he is a lackadaisical character who has played for Netherton all his career.

“Tom is always last to arrive at a game even though he lives closest to the ground! He’s a great lad though and a superb player.”

Netherton are the only side side to have stopped Moulton winning this season. The sides drew 1-1 at The Grange on January 2.

But Moulton have been in unstoppable form since then. Two home wins this week against second-placed Peterborough Sports Reserves (4-2) and Stilton United gave the Lincs-based outfit a huge 18-point lead at the top.

That lead was extended to 20 points when Sports Reserves were deducted five points (they were also fined £100) for fielding a suspended player in a 2-0 win over Langtoft United on February 13.

That points deduction was enough to drop Sports Reserves from second to fourth behind Whittlesey Athletic and Pinchbeck United.

Whittlesey Athletic are now favourites to finish runners-up to Moulton. Whittlesey are away to Holbeach United Reserves tomorrow.
