While Harrox were easing to an impressive 5-1 win at Uppingham, closest challengers Whittlesey Athletic were battling to a goalless draw at Netherton United. Ian Bradbury and Bobby Patterson scored the other goals for Harrox who are now two points clear at the top and they have two games in hand.

There’s a key game in the race for the title this Saturday (March 12) as unbeaten Harrox travel to third-placed Peterborough Sports Reserves, a team who haven’t lost a league game since August. Sports are three points behind the leaders having played two games more so it’s a match they must win.

Whittlesey performed better than on their last visit to the Grange when they were thumped 5-0 in the President’s Shield, but they couldn’t break down a stubborn home defence. Netherton skipper Ben Daly made a brilliant last-ditch tackle in the final moments to ensure the match finished without a goal.

Elsewhere Pinchbeck United avenged their recent shock PFA Cup quarter-final defeat at the hands of Langtoft United with a 5-3 Premier Division win at Knight Street. Nicholas Bishop, Tom Brooks, Tony Edwards, Ashley Murrell and Liam Ogden scored the Pinchbeck goals - four of them arrived in the second half.

Jobi Froud, Steven Colangelo, Ben Moore replied for Langtoft.

Holbeach United Reserves won for just the second time in eight top-flight matches as goals from James Ward (2), Ryan Wheeler and Jordan Keeble brought Crowland’s impressive recent run to a halt.

AFC Stanground moved above Crowland after a 5-3 win over struggling Sawtry. Josh Staggs (2), Luke McDowell, Martyn Fox and Liam Whaley scored for the city side against a Sawtry team losing for the sixth straight game.

The battle of the bottom two turned into a rout as Leverington hammered Riverside 9-0. Mariusz Kudyba and Ivaylo Raychev both scored hat-tricks.

There’s a midweek fixture on Wednesday (March 9) when Netherton host Ketton at the Grange (8.05pm kick off).
