LADIES FOOTBALL: Posh warm up with top friendly fixture at the ABAX

Despite the poor weather and a clash with the FA Cup final, a crowd of just under 500 watched the game and they were treated to some entertaining football in difficult conditions.
Playing against a side from the Premier League (South), the Posh side were always going to face a tough challenge, but they acquitted themselves well against their higher ranked opponents and thoroughly deserved the goal they got deep in the second half through Tash Applegate.

Hide AdApplegate finished off a stylish Posh move, firing low into the bottom corner after good approach play, but the Hammers proved too strong overall, running out 5-1 winners in front of an appreciative crowd.

Holly Peters and Anett Vilipuu both netted twice for the visitors with Gabi Hughes also on target in her first appearance for West Ham.
Posh play Northampton Town in the Northants Women’s League Cup Final at Raunds Town on Saturday (4.45pm kick-off).
