Peterborough United player to boost Spalding United's FA Cup dream, new signing for Peterborough Sports, all the Saturday non-league fixtures

Spalding United boss Jimmy Dean insists his players won’t leave anything on the pitch as they try and reach the FA Cup first round proper for the first time in 62 years on Saturday.

On paper ‘The Tulips’ have a great chance to get into Monday’s draw alongside Posh and Leicester City as they host lower level Alvechurch at the Sir Halley Stewart Field in their fourth round qualifying tie (3pm kick off).

But Spalding, who have signed winger Ejiro Abbey on loan from Posh, are without key men Liam Moore, Tosin Olopade, Tom Pugh, Yusifu Ceesay, Jack Roberts and Dion Sembie-Ferris because of injury against a team riding high in the division below them.

Dean told Lincolnshire Live: "Alvechurch have come on loads since we played them last season and are in the play-off places. They're a very good side, and they'll look at all our injuries and maybe fancy it a bit, so it will be a tough game. We've just got to be at it and seize the day because it's a massive match for us.

"We will give everything we have to get into Monday’s draw.”

Spalding have also re-signed former forward Joe Nyahwema who has returned from a spell in Australian football

Elsewhere Peterborough Sports have signed forward Sydney Ibie from Southern Premier Division Central rivals Leighton Town. Ibe scored twice against Sports in a recent meeting and could make his debut at Stratford Town on Saturday.

The city side moved up to fourth with a midweek win over Banbury and a win tomorrow could move them within touching distance of the top three. Top team Real Bedford are at rock bottom Stamford AFC.

Sports boss Mark Ducket said: “You have to win these games to be up there in the table, but Stratford are probably in a false league position. They will be well organised and relentless and we will need to be the same.”

There are home league games for Bourne Town, FC Peterborough, Yaxley, March Town, Holbeach United and Whittlesey Athletic tomorrow, while Deeping Rangers host Bottesford Town in a Lincs Senior Trophy tie.
