Burton Albion boss believes it's 'brilliant' to see Robbie Savage managing in League One

Burton visit the Weston Homes Stadium to tackle Savage’s Posh on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm kick off) and Bowyer expects to tackle a side in far better shape than their league position would suggest.

Posh are 20th having escaped the relegation zone with a 3-1 win at Leicester City last weekend, the first League One game under the management of Savage.

Bowyer said: “I’ve known Robbie for a long time. I was youth team manager at Blackburn when he was there as a player, and I love the fact that he’s managing

“I think it’s brilliant that his personality is here, and I think it’s brilliant for the game that he’s back in the Football League. He’s a personality. He’s got such a personality that makes you laugh, annoys you, and you can wind him up.

“It gives you energy and enthusiasm, and that’s what we’re coming up against. He’s gone in there and done exactly that with the team

“Robbie has told you everything. He’s told you exactly how they’re going to play and what they’re going to do, so we know that. We’ve shown the lads bits of Peterborough where we think, ‘You’ve got to stop this’, but we’ve also shown them things where we can say, ‘There you go, go and exploit that’.

“You can’t look at the league table and look at Peterborough where they are because this will be a completely different Peterborough. Teams are still forming and coming together. If we’re passive and we let Peterborough play, it doesn’t matter where you are in the league.”
